Glad to see I'm not the only one who was only missing the bloody 9mm (or come across a Glitched Rainbow Chest during reset grind). I wonder if start room chests have a chance to be normal rainbow chests. I had previously found a normal rainbow chest in rainbow mode (they give all the drops, even in rainbow mode). Bloody 9mm was the only item I needed to finish the ammonomicon, just couldn't find a damn lament.ĭuring my resetting, I discovered that the start room rainbow mode chests can be glitched chests (though I did not fight the bosses, as I would expect them to have no drops). Definitely the hardest past by a longshot.Originally posted by Lysander:After resetting rainbow mode for hours, I gave up and installed an item editor to spawn a lament. His past is a pain in the ass, it'd be more in spirit of the character if you could still swipe bullets out of the air but yeah, I just beat it with one hit left for most of the fight, very stressful. Once that's over I generally make sure to get a secondary weapon and hotswap between it and the sword, I just got through the first two levels, including the Ammoconda, without taking a scratch using the sword.

The Bullet's main advantage is defensive, the fact that when you slash it destroys bullets, which turns things into an interesting timing game, if you can keep him at full health the sword projectile is very good to use. I also like that he has interesting synergies with some items, like for example Lament Configurum. He's liquid ability is good in early game and its a guarenteed Oubilette every time. I'd like to add that for me, the Robot feels the most overpowered character of the game and I usually play with him most the time. Also the forward "recoil" (don't know what else to call it) that happens when you swing the sword is causing me a headache, espesially in the mines and forge where pit's are plentiful. He's starting weapons ability to oneshot enemies on the first floor is of little importance to me since I don't like going up close and personal with most enemies even if contact damage is negated most of the time. I wouldn't consider myself that bad at the game since I can constantly and reliably beat the dragun with all the characters (including the bullet), HOWEVER.

I don't like the playstyle of the Bullet at all and he kinda throws me off after playing with all the other characters. Originally posted by VeC Chrysalis:Okay, so.

Plus from what I understand, he benefits from "Junk" way more than the other characters.

Imho, it's called Gungeon, not "Swordgeon" or "Baseballgeon" for a reason :P Same with Casey, I just don't like the melee weapons in this game. I can play him, but I try to use everything but the sword when playing as him. I beat all the other pasts with one try and didn't even sweat, but with the bullet.
